Book #19

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen(Book Binge book #9) The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. I loved this book! I started it yesterday, and of course, stayed up all night reading it. At first (the first 20 pages), I thought I wasn’t going to like it, and then the catering team was introduced, and I was hooked. What a great cast of broken but wonderful characters! Good job, Sarah!

Highly recommended – for fans of fiction about family, loss, love. Easily could be for a YA or adult audience.

Also, if you’re into controlling your environment like I am, this book is a nice wake up call that a little chaos goes a long way towards improving things.

  1. Loved that one too. All her books are awesome. The only one of her books that didn’t thrill me was Dreamland and mainly because of the subject matter. Read This Lullaby next!

  2. I only discovered Sarah Dessen a few weeks ago when I came across a proof for Just Listen which is to be published in the UK in July. I didn’t expect much but once I’d started reading I couldn’t stop. I need to read all her other books now. And I need time, which I haven’t got.

  3. Allison,
I requested This Lullaby from the library today…I also got a few Susan Elizabeth Phillips books…book reports coming soon! Thanks for the suggestions!

Isn’t that the best thing about YA books? They’re quick reads! Plus, I’m so relieved to be away from that awkward time in my own life, I get extreme pleasure reading about other peoples troubles :)

    Thanks for commenting, girls!

  4. This Lullaby is one of my favorites by Sarah Dessen. Just Listen is also very good. As a mom of teens, it was kind of interesting to see the effect of the mother being overly invested in her child’s life – kind of living life thru her daughter. I need to keep that in mind sometimes, that the choices we think are best for them are not necessarily in keeping with their own personality, aspirations and who they really are…
