Introducing the Presidential Candidate Book Challenge
Presidential Candidate Book Challenge runs from May 1, 2024 to Dec. 1, 2007.
I’ve decided to take on all the books of the presidential candidates. Well, at least their autobiographies - if they’ve written one. I want to take a closer look at these people well before the primaries. If you care to join me, leave a comment, and I’ll keep track of participants. I’ll cook up some prizes for things like “Most books read”, and “Most parties represented.”
Audiobooks are allowed. Also, I plan to include other politicians books…Sen. Bill Bradley, Ralph Nader, etc. Any book that is going to give us a better understanding of today’s political climate. Basically, read whatever you want under the heading of politics, and we’ll have a vote on categories for prizes around October. It will be very democratic.
So here are the requirements of the challenge:
- Leave a comment saying you’re participating.
- Post a link to this post on your blog. Feel free to copy my Challenge button (I made it myself!).
- Keep track of the books you’re reading. Even better, if you have time, write blog posts about the books you’re reading and what you think of them. If you do write posts, add this tag: “Presidential Candidate Book Challenge”
- On Dec. 1, post a comment with your list of completed books including a short review or rating.
Won’t we all be so informed?! Here’s hoping…now sign up!
Wow, what an interesting challenge! I’d love to participate. Moreover, I’m ever so curious about which books and topics will be selected most.

Hmm. I read about one political book a year. (Shameful, I know, but I do read the papers, and I do listen to the CBC!) I’ve been very slowly chugging my way through Bob Woodward’s “State of Denial” for about four months now… I have a biography of Trudeau next on the list.
Who are the presidential candidates, anyway? (Before you fall right over in shock, remember I’m not American.) I could readily tell you the names of all our Prime Ministerial candidates before an election, and I’ll certainly be aware of who yours are as your election draws closer. But this far in advance, I have no idea who’s on the roster.
hey moxymedia, thanks for commenting. i would love to participate but i too have huge projects coming up and i think i’d be a huge party pooper with this game. at most, i’d get through one book :/
it really is an interesting challenge though…best of luck with it!
Great quality stuff.
Unfortunately I have about ten projects going on simultaneously at the moment. However, I think it’s a great idea and would be happy to post a link anyway. Good luck.
